In EXCALIBUR apple orchards lots of samples were taken this autumn

Samples for DNA analysis were prepared, nematodes extracted, earthworms collected and untouched soil containing arthropods was taken.

Most of the samples were distributed to partners within the consortium who have special expertise e.g. in identifying different earth worm species in order to make the most of our trials and learn as much as possible about soil biodiversity.
