Excalibur was part of the EGU General Assembly 2020

Excalibur project was part of the European Geoscience Union (EGU) General Assembly 2020. Titled “Sharing Geoscience Onlinethe event took place virtually due to the extraordinary COVID-19 pandemic situation. The event was happening the whole week from 4  until  8 May 2020.

Excalibur was presented during a session dedicated to Plant-Microorganism-Soil interactions in the rhizosphere (from chemical, biological, and physical perspectives to an interlinked understanding of processes). All presentations delivered during that session are available online and are open to discussions to all interested stakeholders. The presentations are open for comments until 1 June 2020. 


The EGU General Assembly 2020 in the online format Sharing Geoscience Online was а successful experiment.  18,036 abstracts formed the programme with 701 scientific sessions, 11,380 presentation materials accompanied the abstracts and received 6,297 comments so far. A fantastic number of 26,219 individual users joined 721 live text chats and posted 200,400 messages.

The next EGU General Assembly is scheduled for 25 – 30 April 2021.
