FӦKO

FOEKO is the main association of organic fruit growers in Germany. It is coordinating a working net for the development of organic fruit growing where farmers, consultants and researchers work together and it is organizing conferences at national and international level. In this context, FOEKO’s skills are expected to significantly support dissemination activities on new approaches proposed by Excalibur (WP6).

They will also host field trials in organic apple orchards, testing different treatments (e.g. inocula, bioeffector/s, inocula & bioeffectors) and verifying the effect of the treatments on plant health, growth, yield and nutrition and economic sustainability (WP3). This on farm trials will help considerably to insert the approaches proposed by Excalibur into the existing strategies in organic fruit growing and to introduce them into practice.
