Researchers from NIOO are leaders in the field of multitrophic interactions and soil ecology, experienced in solving complex ecological issues such as plant-soil-microbe interactions.
Specifically, their experience in plant interactions with herbivores and their natural enemies, pathogens, and beneficial microorganisms is expected to provide key support in the setup and development of bioinoculants (WP2) and new knowledge on the mechanisms underlying plant responses to biotic/abiotic stresses (WP5).
Moreover, they are also appreciated for the way in which ecological knowledge is made available to science and society; thus, they will enhance the exploitation of the Excalibur results among society and national/international end-users (WP6).
